Local farms & farm shops

Here are some of our recommended farms and farm shops in the Waveney Valley and on the Norfolk Broads. Updated: 4th July 2018.

Fen Farm Dairy

Address: Flixton Road, Bungay, Suffolk NR35 1PD
From Earsham Park Farm: 4 miles
From Moles Acre: 10.6 miles
www.fenfarmdairy.co.uk

Have you joined the Raw Milk Revolution? Home to the UK’s first raw milk vending machine and self-serve milk dispenser, Fen Farm, just outside Bungay, are leading the way on a sustainable future for dairy farming. Making super fresh, unpasteurised milk ultra-accessible is a progressive and exciting approach, ensuring farmers get a fair price for their milk.

Visit Fen Farm for self-serve raw milk, raw milk coffee and raw milk butter.

Note, if you are approaching from the direction of Homersfield (i.e. the opposite direction to Bungay) the farm has a very tight, narrow car park, so approach with caution.

Old Hall Farm

Address: Norwich Rd, Woodton, Norfolk NR35 2LP
From Earsham Park Farm: 5.5 miles
From Moles Acre: 7.4 miles
www.oldhallfarm.co.uk

Immediately north of Earsham Park Farm on the Norwich Road, is the wonderful Old Hall Farm. Passionate about helping people understand the connection between food and farming, husband and wife team, Stuart and Rebecca, are making Old Hall Farm into not just a lovely place to pick up local produce, but a place you can spend the day.

As well as buying delicious raw milk, you can also arrange to meet the herd and pet the emu. In the future you'll be able to sample their own wine and cheese too.

Visit Old Hall Farm for delicious Raw Jersey Milkshakes (recommend the Raspberry and White Chocolate one!), Raw Jersey Milk, Butter and local jams, honey and eggs.

Note – you can use Contactless to buy your milk from their vending machine. Genius :)

Hillfield Nursery & Farm Shop is the nearest 'Pick Your Own' to Loddon. You can bring your own tubs, or you can pick up trays from the shop. Simply pop in to be weighed (your tubs that is!) and then head out to your chosen aisle. Wear some good footwear as it's a big farm and a fair walk to some of the fields. Enjoy fabulous countryside views along the way.

Find a fabulous range of local produce, including their own range of apple juice. Super convenient from Moles Acre.

Yare Valley Oils Farm Shop

Address: The Grange, The Covey, Surlingham, Norwich NR14 7AL
From Earsham Park Farm: 17 miles
From Moles Acre: 8.8 miles
www.yarevalley.com

Nested in the absolute epitome of Norfolk countryside is the super-rural Yare Valley Oils self-serve Farm Shop. This isn't a farm shop that you're likely to just pass (unless you're exploring the area on foot, which we do recommend).

You can buy Yare Valley Oils in most farm shops and delicatessens around us in Loddon and Earsham, but if you want to buy this award-winning rapeseed oil from the source, we recommend making the trip. For flavours and fusions, you'll be spoilt for choice. Bring it back and use it for frying, roasting, baking, dressing and more. Pick up some farm-fresh fruit and veg while you're there.

It's a beautiful drive from Loddon if you go through Chedgrave and Claxton, leading to Rockland St Mary and then Surlingham.
